Horses and riders from three different seats will once again share a weekend full of equestrian events at the annual Winter Fun Show at William Woods University.

This year's show, presented by the WWU Hunter/ Jumper Show Team, will be held Friday to Sunday (March 2-4) and will include hunter/ jumper, western and saddle seat classes.

"The fun show allows students to gain show experience in a low stress environment without the expenses of an off-campus show," said Jacque Franco, vice president of the show team.

Hunter/ jumper events will be held on Friday and Saturday and western and saddle seat events will be held on Sunday.

The show is recognized by the Missouri Horse Show Association and the Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization and is open to outside competitors and spectators.

Office fees are $10. Hunter/ jumper classes are $15, while saddle seat and western classes are $10. The proceeds will go to members of the hunter/ jumper team members that volunteer at the show.

"For show team members, it allows us to earn money working the show that can later be used toward clinics and other horse shows, especially our off-campus "A" shows," said Franco.

Many members of the team are saving and preparing for the Spring Time Encore "AA" show in Germantown, Tenn., April 9-15.

Although putting on a show is a considerable undertaking, members of the show team look forward to doing it every year.

"Putting on a three-day horse show with three different riding disciplines is a tall task, and each year our show team members step up to the plate and help everything run smoothly," said Franco.

"While it is a lot of hard work, in the end everyone has a good time and it is a great feeling of accomplishment to know that we have put on a successful show."
