Fraternity men would usually avoid purchasing diapers, but for the sake of giving, one group at William Woods University doesn’t mind.

Recognizing a continued need in the community, the men of Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) fraternity will host their fifth annual “Dudes for Diapers” fundraiser.

Donation jars will be out until Oct. 21 in four campus locations—Tucker Dining Hall, McNutt Campus Center, Academic Building room 209 and the Fiji house. The men will collect spare change from students and faculty. Members are also asking businesses in the Fulton community to donate.

“Dudes for Diapers is important to Fiji because it’s for a worthy cause to help underprivileged families get diapers for their children,” explained Steven Brandenburg, community service chair of Fiji. “We send all of the donations to the Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri in Columbia.”

Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri (LFCS) is a not-for-profit social services organization serving the state. The organization has been in existence since 1868, when it was founded as a residence for children left homeless after the Civil War. LFCS offers services such as foster care, counseling, child care, adoption services, and disaster relief services.

“Dudes for Diapers is something that we have done for the last few years and one that we will continue to do for years to follow,” said Brandenburg.
