St. Peters Senior Receives Awards

The daughter of Mark and Mary Martin of St. Peters, she will graduate May 10 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
The McNutt award is given to the graduate whose consistency of purpose and selfless devotion to service were contributed without thought of reward and who best exemplifies the spirit and qualities of Amy Shelton McNutt, an alumna of William Woods in whose honor the award was named.
By her listing in “Who’s Who,” Martin joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Martin was honored for her involvement in numerous campus organizations and service projects, including: President’s 20 community service coordinator, soccer team captain, orientation assistant chair, Campus Activities Board Snowball chair, Little Brother Little Sister organization, YMCA volunteer, theatre department usher and student representative for the education division.
She has worked at WWU as a writing lab assistant, earth science tutor, phonathon caller and community advisor.
During her time at William Woods, she has been on the Dean’s List consistently and was chosen for Alpha Chi Honorary and for Kappa Delta Pi Education Honorary, for which she served as historian.
