Carmen Watchinski Named to Who’s Who

Carmen WatchinskiCarmen Watchinski of Columbia, Mo., has been named to the 2011 edition of “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

Watchinski, a biology major, was one of 14 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who based on outstanding campus leadership.
 
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
 
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Watchinski joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
 
Watchinski has been president and scholarship director of Delta Gamma sorority. She has also been treasurer of Beta Beta Beta biology honor society, treasurer of Student Alumni Council, vice president of the Biology Club and president of the Pre-Vet Club.  She has been a member of President’s Twenty, Campus Activities Board, Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity and Order of Omega Greek honor society.
 
She has volunteered with Relay for Life, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Service for Sight and mission trips.
