Marisa Benthusen Named to Who’s Who

Marisa BenthusenMarisa Benthusen of Raymore, Mo., has been named to the 2011 edition of “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
 
Benthusen, an American Sign Language interpreting major, was one of 14 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who based on outstanding campus leadership.
 
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
 
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Benthusen joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
 
Benthusen is the founder and president of the Kindness Connection. She also has been campus activities cardinal cabinet director for Chi Omega sorority, public relations chairperson for Up ’Til Dawn for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a member of the women’s volleyball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Hands Up! Club, Pre-Med Club and Campus Crusade for Christ.
 
She has volunteered with the Missouri School for the Deaf, the campus recycling program, United Way, Relay for Life and Faith Maternity Care.
