Student Earns Scholarship from William Woods University

A New London, Mo., student received an academic scholarship from William Woods University.
Receiving Academic Excellence, A+, Legacy and LEAD awards was Madeline Locke, the daughter of Terry and Rebecca Locke. She intends to major in early childhood education.
$5,000 Academic Excellence Awards are awarded to applicants who have a minimum ACT of 30 or SAT of 1320-1350 or who graduated first or second in their class or who are ranked in the top 5 percent of their class.
A+ Awards of $1,000 are automatically awarded upon receipt of a certified transcript from a Missouri A+ designated high school.
Legacy Awards of $1,000 are provided to siblings who concurrently attend WWU or a student who is a dependent child of a WWU grandparent, parent or sibling.
LEAD Awards of $5,000 are awarded to incoming students to encourage active student involvement in university life beyond the classroom.
