Weedman Honored with Outstanding Service Award at WWU

Deb Weedman Deb Weedman, St. Louis, Mo., received the Outstanding Service Award at William Woods University’s Alumni Weekend, April 23-25.  The Outstanding Service Award honors an alumnus for many years of support in multifaceted areas and outstanding service to the university.
 
She previously was honored as the recipient of the Green Owl Award in 2006 for her service to William Woods.
 
Weedman graduated from WWU in 1977 with a bachelor of science degree in paralegal studies and went on to receive her juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Shortly after she began a private law practice, and she later joined the legal department of the Apex Oil Company of St. Louis.
 
During her time at William Woods, Weedman was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority, an officer on the Panhellenic Council, vice president of the Young Republicans and a member of the softball and basketball teams.
 
In 2002, she became a member of the advisory committee on the national alumni board. Since then, she has chaired the Alumni Weekend Joint Golf Tournament. Weedman, along with fellow board member Sally Frank, also proposed, organized and created Alumni Weekend’s Saturday afternoon wine tasting.
 
Weedman also supports WWU throughout the year, attending almost every St. Louis alumni gathering, and participating as a founding member of the President’s Club.
