Greeks at William Woods University are getting set to play barber, and they invite the campus community and the public to watch some folks lose their hair.
Alpha Chi Omega and Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) are holding their second annual “Hair Cuts for CARDV” fund-raising event at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Fiji house. For a donation to CARDV, anyone can sponsor a person to get a hair cut and choose the way it should be cut.
CARDV, the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence, is a nonprofit organization that provides services and support to individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence. They also provide education and leadership within the Callaway County community to help change the societal conditions that cultivate domestic violence.
In conjunction with their Founder’s Day, Alpha Chi Omega will also be selling plates of food and cake to raise additional money for CARDV.
Last year “Hair Cuts for CARDV” raised $350, with volunteers from Phi Gamma Delta and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternities sacrificing their hair for the cause.
