MBA offered in Jefferson City by William Woods University

In a continuing effort to meet the needs of working adults, William Woods University is offering Jefferson City area residents the opportunity to pursue a master of business administration (MBA) degree with an emphasis in agribusiness, health management or human resources.
The programs will begin with an orientation at 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Jefferson City Site, 919 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City.

WWU is one of the few universities in the United States that offers an MBA with agribusiness emphasis. Courses for the 36-credit-hour degree include agriculture law, agriculture policy and futures trading, in addition to traditional MBA courses in executive management, economics, organizational business, entrepreneurship, marketing research, marketing planning and development, accounting and financial decisions.
 
The MBA is designed to enhance the knowledge of the agriculture professional by emphasizing common business concepts as they relate to today’s highly competitive and rapidly changing agriculture industry.
 
The MBA health management degree is a 36-hour degree program designed to equip the healthcare management professional with focused skills and knowledge for professional practice. This is a 19-22 month MBA with four specific healthcare courses integrated into the program: Overview of Healthcare Management, Legal Aspects of Healthcare Management, Healthcare Economics and Healthcare Human Resources.
 
The human resources concentration is a 36-hour program designed to equip the student with a broad array of skills and knowledge for professional practice. It is intended for the professional who is involved in management decisions and practices that directly affect or influence the people who work for the organization.
 
The program focuses on three distinct areas of human resources: Employment Law and Labor Relations; Compensation and Benefits, and Performance Management, Training and Development.
 
In addition to the MBA, William Woods offers several other Graduate & Adult Studies programs, including the ACCESS program of general education, an associate of arts degree in liberal studies, a B.S. in management (BSM), a BSM with human resources emphasis and a B.S. in paralegal studies.
 
Graduate programs include a master of education (M.Ed.) in administration, curriculum/instruction or athletics/activities administration and a specialist of education (Ed.S.) in school administration or curriculum leadership.
