Fulton Resident Among WWU Students Named to Who’s Who

Ciara Cheatum of Fulton, a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2009 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” She is majoring in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and advertising.
Cheatum was one of 18 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
Also chosen for Who’s Who from Missouri were: LeeAnn Beard of Hannibal, Stacie Bonte of Fenton, Kendall Carter of New Florence, Nicole DeWoskin of Chesterfield, Kristin Garnett and LeaAnn Knaebel of Jefferson City, Beth Outz of Holts Summit, Bradley Prasuhn of Farmington, Clayton Thompson of Vandalia and Brittany Welton of Willow Springs.
Who’s Who members from out of state are: Tara Boehl of Washington, Ill.; Rebecca Cooper of Red Bud, Ill.; Adam Dresden of Granite City, Ill.; Brynn Elliott of Newcastle, Wyo.; Katherine Gazdziak of Woodstock, Ill.; Kathryn Golden of Crystal Lake, Ill., and of Louisville, Ky.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” these students join an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Cheatum is active in Alpha Phi fraternity as director of house facilities. She is a volunteer mentor for PeaceJam; past secretary and current president of Multicultural Affairs, and past secretary and president of Writers’ Ink. She also serves the university as a community advisor in a campus residence hall.
