William Woods University took seven dressage students, six school horses, and one privately-owned horse to the Kansas City Dressage Society show at Longview Park in Kansas City May 2-3. All riders came home with ribbons in every class.
“We came back tired and with a wheelbarrow-load of ribbons, including either a champion or reserve high-score ribbon in divisions of Training, First, Second and Third levels,” Karen Pautz, dressage instructor, said.
Highlights of the show:
- Maggie O’Leary of Florissant, Mo., and Ecu de Benecere (Pierre) won all four of their Training Level tests, and were high-score Training Level Junior/Young Rider.
- Rachel McDaniel of Rolla, Mo., and Kaletto brought home the reserve high-score First Level Junior/Young Rider ribbon.
- Lauren Donahoo of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Raphaelo (Rizzo) were reserve high-score at Second Level Junior/Young Rider.
- Mallory Bradbury of Olathe, Kan., and An Honest Request (Paul) were high-score at Third Level Amateur Adult.
Their next scheduled show is the St. Louis Area Dressage Summer Festival shows June 5-7.
