Layos Receives Missouri Colleges Fund Scholarship

Katina Layos of New Tripoli, Pa., has received a $1,000 scholarship from Katina LayosMissouri Colleges Fund (MCF) in recognition of her achievements at William Woods University. She is a senior, double majoring in special education and equestrian science.
 
Money for the scholarship came from the Hellenic Spirit Foundation. The award is given to a student with Greek heritage.
 
Layos is a member of Chi Omega, Saddle Seat Club, Students for Social Work, Campus Crusade for Christ and St. Peter’s Posse. She is a university tutor and works in the Admission Office. She has also worked at local barns grooming horses and teaching lessons on the weekends.
 
She is a Vonderschmitt Scholar (the highest honor for an equestrian major) and the recipient of the Equestrian Science Scholarship and Academic Excellence Scholarship. She is also  consistently on the WWU Dean’s List.
