“Don’t Dress for Dinner” centers on the character of Bernard, who has planned a weekend with his chic Parisian mistress. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights and has invited his best friend, Robert, who also happens to be his wife’s lover, to provide an alibi.
When his wife, Jacqueline, realizes that Robert will be coming she cancels her trip and decides to stay home. In a case of mistaken identities, the cook is identified as the mistress and the real mistress is unable to cook. To make matters worse, the cook’s husband shows up. A night of hilarious confusion follows.
