Dudes for Diapers raises money to help Lutheran Family and Children Services in Columbia buy diapers for underprivileged families.
“Dudes for Diapers is a great project,” said Riley Bagwell, president of Phi Gamma Delta. “It’s a great way to raise money for needy families to buy diapers and continue to strengthen the name of our fraternity and Greek life in the community.”
A table was set up in Tucker Dining Hall March 10-14, and the men collected spare change from students. To add a competitive element, each living unit had its own collection jar.
When the week concluded, Alpha Chi Omega sorority was the largest donor. The winner received brownies from Cake Creations, donated by Phi Gamma Delta’s faculty advisor, Harriet Yelon, associate professor of social work. A total of $275 was raised.
“I’m very proud of the guys,” said Yelon. “They worked hard again to host Dudes for Diapers for the second year and they managed to exceed what they did last year. I look for even greater things from this philanthropy in years to come.”
