Twelve pieces have been submitted to the Callaway County Public Library and more than 70 additional pieces have been completed by students at William Woods University.
“We are thrilled with the number of entries we’ve received this year,” Kate Graf, librarian and One Read coordinator for Callaway County, said. “The circus theme seemed to appeal to people and we have had far more pieces submitted than in previous years. It makes a very nice art show.”
The show is based on this year’s One Read selection, “Water for Elephants,” which tells the tale of an elderly man recounting his days in the circus during the Great Depression.
Selected pieces will be on display at WestWood, which is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
