Union Star Resident Named to Who’s Who

The daughter of Ron and Agnes Crites, she is majoring in American Sign Language interpreting.
Crites was one of 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on being an outstanding campus leader. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Crites joins and elite group students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Crites is a head community advisor. An Alpha Chi Omega sorority member, she has served as vice president of education, vice president of intellectual development, historian, fraternity relations committee and alumni weekend committee.
She is secretary of Order of Omega Greek honorary society and was vice president of the Hands Up Club for interpreting majors. She was also the entertainment chair, logistics chair and team captain of Up Til Dawn, which raises funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Her community service involvement includes interpreting for various organizations, volunteering at SERVE, participating in Take Back the Night and working for Habitat for Humanity. She has also taken part in the Missouri State Interpreters Conference.
