on campus for the WWU Golf Classic. In
addition to owning Chicago Players Club,
providing golf lessons, club fittings, and golf
equipment, Mike is the men's golf coach at
St. Xavier University in Chicago.

M.Ed, Lowry City, Mo., is
Lakeland R-III’s new principal.
John Wiggans
M.Ed, Macon, Mo., is the new
secondary principal of Paris R-II School District.
Ryan Garnett
M.Ed, Scott City, Mo., is
Woodland School’s high school social studies
teacher and assistant basketball coach.
Andy Turner
M.Ed, Tipton, Mo., is the new
principal of the Tipton R-VI Junior High School
and will serve as the school’s activities director
and head softball coach.
Josh Graves
M.Ed, Camdenton, Mo., is the
new athletic director at Humansville R-IV School
District. He will also teach freshmen boys’ health,
along with coaching weights and serving as the
head boys’ basketball coach.
Jasmine Taylor
M.Ed, Maysville, Mo., is the
middle school special education teacher in the
Clinton County R-III School District.
Cody Carney
M.Ed., Osceola, Mo., is a fifth-
and sixth-grade math teacher in the Osceola
School District.

has stepped down as the
SUNY-Canton president to be an adviser to
SUNY’s chancellor, Nancy Zimpher, on shared
services. He served three years as vice president
of academic affairs at WWU.

Bixby, Okla., and husband,
Jason McGlynn, welcomed a son, Ronan
McGlynn, May 26, 2012.
Kacey (Myers) Studyvin
and husband,
Clayton, Bentonville, Ark., welcomed their
second daughter, Ainsley Cooper, on April 16,
She joins big sister Aubrey. Kacey
is a graphic designer at Parachuting Penguins
in Bentonville.
Mabel (Miller) Smith
Plano, Texas, passed
away March 29, 2012. Mabel was active in the
First Christian Church, the Sequence Study Club,
and Women’s Book Club, as well as providing
loving support for all the activities of her children.
She was known as an accomplished gardener and
outstanding cook.
Jewell (Kennett) Chandler
Denver, Colo.,
died May 21, 2012. She taught school in Missouri
in Callaway County before moving to Texas.
She then began a very successful career in the
savings and loan industry, being the first woman
branch manager of a savings and loan in the state
of Texas. Jewell is the mother of

Marya Welch
Davis, Calif., passed away
June 24, 2012. Marya was a pioneering professor
and leader in collegiate sports who established
women’s athletics at the University of California-
Davis. She taught early courses and established
and coached teams in archery, basketball,
equestrian, riflery, softball, swimming, tennis,
track and field, and volleyball. A tennis complex
and student housing complex were named for
her at UC Davis.
Anna (King) Campbell
Dallas, Texas, died
Aug 6, 2010. Anna was a licensed cosmetologist.
Betsy (Drescher) Breitling
Laurie, Mo.,
died April 30, 2012. Betsy lived in the Jackson-
West Bend, Wis., area for more than 50 years and
was past president and secretary of the American
Legion Auxiliary Unit 486 in Jackson. She was
district president 1967-1969. She was an avid
