the Monomoy Yacht Club in Chatham.

Sharon (Aldrich) Stark
, Kendallville, Ind., and her
husband, Ken, celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in June. Prior to retirement she
managed shoe stores, a jeans shop and a
Baskin Robbins.
Nancy (James) Menefee
, Portland, Ore., is
active in the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Altar
Guild and Portland Garden Club. She and
enjoys membership in the Town Club with her
husband of 24 years, Towner.
Cynthia Swanson
, Paxton, Ill., volunteers as
curator of a historical society museum. Before
retiring she worked at the Contra Costa County
Library in California.

currently writing a history column, “Charleston
Hat It All,” which is published weekly in local

Prairie Eagle. Mildred belongs to the Heartland
and Missouri Writers Guilds and the Ozark
Writers League.

Dorothy (Saunders) Clement

was an administrative assistant to the director
of Arkansas State Parks. She and her husband,
Neil, owned a dress shop for 55 years. Dorothy
and classmates, Jackie (Smith) Coulter, Dallas,
Texas, Carolyn (Williams) Forsen, St.Louis, Mo.,
and Nell (Russell) Miller, Helena, Ark., met for
their annual trip in Eureka Springs, Ark. Unable
to join them was classmate LaTrisia (Kinney)

Alice (Dean) Helmer
, Manchester, Mo.,
remarried four years ago having moved back
to St. Louis after living in Ft. Myers, Fla. She has
been on the Kirkwood High School reunion
committee for her 50th and 55th reunions and
instrumental is revitalizing the area alumni.
Dewina (Horn) Danley
, Bella Vista, Ark., retired
after working at Hallmark Cards, NBC television
and Marion labs. She and her husband, Bob, of
24 years travel extensively, most recently on a
cruise to Tahiti and Bora Bora.
Sue (Peterson) Jennings

sold her retail needlework business of 30
years. In retirement she enjoys her great-
granddaughter, Amelie, and visiting her sister,

many awards for her china painting. For three
years, following her husband’s retirement, they
traveled to the South Pacifc to serve the Island
Mercy as dentist and dental assistant, returning
home in 1999.
Joyce (Turner) Swanson

retired after working in bookkeeping and retail.
She enjoys painting, scrapbooking, reading and
playing with her great-grandson, Gavin.

Mabel (Miller) Smith, Plano, Texas, visited
campus, for the frst time in more than 20 years,
with her son, Roger, and his wife, Jackie.
1948
Marcene (Mead) Young, Ponca City, Okla.,
and her husband, Calvin, celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary in July. In retirement,
the couple travels and volunteers, and has
coordinated the Meals-On-Wheels program for
23 years.
