the parents of the Children’s Miracle Network
Missouri Miracle Child, Jayla Kemp. A child from
each state is selected to represent all children
from the state who have been served by Children’s
Miracle Network hospitals. Jayla and her family
will travel to Washington, DC, to meet with state
legislators and to Disney World for the Children’s
Miracle Network National Celebration. Jayla is a
regular patient at MU Children’s Hospital in
Columbia, Mo., where she receives treatment
for Cystic Fibrosis.

, Los Angeles, Calif., had an art
opening Dec. 3, 2011 – “Where you least expect
it,” featuring graffiti and resin techniques on local,
found objects.
Sarah Williams
, Denton, Texas, had a private
art gallery reception at Galveston Arts Center
in Galveston, Texas, October 2011. The Marty
Walker Gallery in Dallas, Texas, presented a solo
exhibition of Sarah’s New Urban Landscapes of
Industrial American Roadsides, January 2012.
Sarah has exhibited and participated in a panel for
the Dallas Contemporary’s Here, There & Beyond,
and completed an artist-in-residence program
in Vermont.
Nick Curtis
, Ashland, Mo., has been promoted to
senior accountant for Agents National Title
Insurance, in Columbia, Mo. He has been on the
staff there since May 2008. Nick was a member of
the baseball team while at WWU. He is married

Kathryn Golden
, Urbana, Ill., is finishing class
work at the University of Illinois Veterinary
Medicine – Class of 2013. Kathryn is traveling
to many equine clinics around the country. She is
also working in the Wildlife Medical Clinic as a
team leader.

from basic military training at Lackland Air Force
Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Kip Batye
, Fulton, Mo., is the staff accountant for
Agents National Title Insurance in Columbia, Mo.
Prior to joining Agents, Kip interned at a sports
agency in St. Louis and also worked in the
banking industry. At WWU, Kip played
on the baseball team for four years.

assistant at The Bluffs, all-skilled nursing
facility, Columbia, Mo. Mallory also received
the designation, Social Services Designee,
following training from the Missouri Association
of Nursing Home Administrators.

retiring from a 24-year teaching career. Her
