This course investigates the nature and functions of money; brief history of banking in the United States, the commercial banking system, its money creation and destruction capabilities; non-banking financial institutions, the organization, purpose and functions of the Federal Reserve System, sources of reserves, and monetary policy. Prerequisites: ECN 251 and ECN 252
