Chemistry Minor - 19-20 Hours
The Division of Arts and Sciences offers a minor in chemistry to students who wish to enhance their degrees with a strong concentration in this area. The chemistry minor is open to any student. Majors in Biology and Unified Science, in particular, will find that chemistry courses are a valuable complement to courses in their major. A minor in an excellent credential in the eyes of prospective employers and enhances the records of students interested in medical or other professional schools. The chemistry minor requires a minimum of 22 credit hours, of which 14 hours must be at the 300 or higher levels.
Note: Physical Chemistry courses have a prerequisite of one year of calculus and one year of physics. This coursework is also a requirement for entrance into most medical, veterinary, pharmacy and graduate science programs.
