Appeal Process: Probation/Suspension
Students may appeal academic probation or suspension if unusual and/or mitigating circumstances have affected academic progress. Examples of such circumstances are: severe illness, an injury that has affected student performance, an illness or injury of a student’s immediate family member, death of a relative, student deployment or activation into military service, or other circumstances that have caused a student not to meet academic progress requirements. All appeals must be in writing and sent to the Vice President and Dean for the Graduate College. The appeal should clearly address the circumstances that led to the action. Students must appeal within one (1) month of notification of academic probation or suspension.
