EQU111 Introduction to the Horse Industry
This course is an introduction to the people, organizations and objectives of breed, horseman’s organizations and horse sport on the national and international level. Specific areas will include the role of the horse in American society, the worldwide economic impact of horses, the utilization of horses in recreation, horse sports, and horse enterprises. There will be an emphasis on the four WWU seats of dressage, hunter/jumper, saddle seat and western and their practices. The course will explore employment opportunities and practices in the industry.
