William Woods Hosts "Pink-Out"/Harris-Stowe
(FULTON, Mo., Oct. 1) - The William Woods University women's soccer team will host American Midwest Conference foe Harris-Stowe State University tonight at Firley Field. The Owls and Hornets will kick-off at 7 pm.
The women’s soccer team will also participate in a “Pink-Out” soccer match against Harris-Stowe. During the week, the team has been collecting donations of $5 for Passionately Pink lapel buttons. A portion of the proceeds collected for this event will go to directly benefit our guest of honor for the night who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and is in the midst of her battle toward recovery. The remainder of the proceeds will be donated to the Komen Foundation of Columbia, Mo. In order to support this event please buy a button from a women’s soccer player, or contact Coach Randy Hall. We ask that you wear something pink to the match, and cheer on the Owls.
William Woods enters tonight's match 1-6 on the season, and 0-3 in AMC play. The Hornets enter the match 0-8 overall, 0-2 in the AMC. William Woods leads the all-time series between the two schools 18-1. WWU won three matches against HSSU last season. The last victory was a 10-0 win in the quarterfinals of the AMC postseason tournament.
Due to the threat of inclement weather, we will be unable to provide an AudioCast, or live stats of tonight's match. We apologize for the inconvenience.
