(HANNIBAL, Mo, Oct. 31) - The William Woods University women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at American Midwest Conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, WWU falls to 3-13 on the season, and 2-7 in the AMC.

 

Sophomore Anne Weaver (St. Charles, Mo.) put the Owls on the board first. Weaver scored in the 28th minute to give the Owls a 1-0 advantage.

 

Hannibal-LaGrange tied the match in the 31st minute on a goal from Fernanda Miacci. Leslie Gordan added a second goal for the Trojans in the 43rd minute to give H-LG a 2-1 halftime lead.

 

The Trojans added two additional goals in the second half. Gordan and Jasman Edmond each had a second half goal for H-LG (6-8-1, 3-5-1).

 

The Trojans outshot the Owls 23-8 in the win. Freshman goalkeeper Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) recorded 10 saves in the loss.

 

The Owls will return to action on November 2nd. WWU will travel to St. Louis, Mo., to take on AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University in the final AMC match of the year for the Owls.
