WWU Drops AMC Match at #11 McKendree

(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 24) - The William Woods University women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at McKendree University on Wednesday evening. The Bearcats entered the American Midwest Conference match as the 11th ranked team in this week's NAIA Top 25.

McKendree scored three goals in the first half, and three in the second half in the win. The Bearcats received goals from Cassie Lofink (2), Carlee Luehmann (2), Sulyn Keomanivane and Tanisha Reed. William Woods goalie Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) recorded eight saves in the loss.

McKendree improves to 7-1-1 on the season, 3-0 in the AMC. William Woods falls to 1-6 on the year, 0-3 in the AMC.

In the last 12 days, and three of the last four matches, the Owls have played three teams currently ranked in the Top 25. William Woods will return to action on September 26th. WWU will host AMC rival Missouri Baptist University at 5 pm on Firley Field.
