Women’s Soccer All-Conference Announced
(FULTON, Mo., Nov. 14)--Five members of the William Woods University women’s soccer team received All-American Midwest Conference recognition. Ashley Morgan (Valparaiso, Ind.) and Stacie Bonte (Fenton, Mo.) have been named to the AMC 1st Team. Hayley Christensen (Osage Beach, Mo.), Caty Newbold (Jefferson City, Mo.), and Colleen Daily (Ellisville, Mo.) were named Honorable Mention All-AMC.
Morgan, a senior forward from Valparaiso, Ind., recorded 27 goals, nine assists and 63 points on the year. She finished her career as the single-season leader in goals (27) and points (63). She also set the career record for assists (29). Bonte, a senior defender from Fenton, Mo., recorded six goals, six assists, and 18 points during the 2008 season.

Abrina Tainter - Sophomore from Lisle, Ill.
Nicole Westhues - Junior from Moberly, Mo.
William Woods finished the 2008 season with a loss to McKendree University in the championship match of the AMC postseason tournament. The Owls finished with a record of 13-8.

Women’s Soccer Falls in Championship Match
(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 13)--The William Woods University women’s soccer team lost at #17 McKendree University in the Championship match of the American Midwest Conference postseason tournament. The Bearcats defeated the Owls 5-0.
McKendree took a 3-0 lead into the half on goals from Ilana Milkez, Sulyn Keomanivane, and Sarah Ryan. Keomanivane and Ryan added a goal apiece in the second half en route to the 5-0 victory.
McKendree outshot William Woods 19-9 (10-5 on goal). Colleen Dailey recorded five saves in goal for William Woods.
The Owls end the 2008 season with a record of 13-8. The last time the Owls won 13 matches was during the 2002 season (13-4-1).
