 Owls Win AMC and Region V Championships
(COLUMBIA, Mo., May 6th)--The William Woods women's golf team won the American Midwest Conference and NAIA Region V Championships at A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia, Missouri Tuesday afternoon. The Owls are qualified for their fifth consecutive trip to the NAIA National Championships. The Owls finished 8th at the 2007 NAIA National Championships.
The Owls defeated McKendree University in the AMC Championships by 107 strokes. William Woods defeated Lindenwood University by 12 strokes
Ceanne Kressig won the AMC and Region V Individual Championship. She won the AMC Championship by six strokes. She won the Region V Championship in a play-off.
Kressig earned the AMC and Region V Player of the Year honors. Head Coach Barry Doty was the recipient of the AMC and Region V Coach of the Year honors.
