Women 8th After Day One

(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Sept. 15) -
The William Woods University women's golf team is in 8th place after one round of play at the Lady Panther Shootout in Springfield, Mo. The Owls are 26 shots behind first round leader the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

 

WWU shot an opening round 330. The Owls are +42 heading into the second round of play. The field consists of 17 schools.

 

WWU was led on day one by sophomore Jada Bennington (Beloit, Wisc.). Bennington is tied for 5th place individually. She shot a 76 (+4) and is three shots off the lead. The field consists of 97 golfers.

 

The Owls will take the course on Wednesday for the final round of the tournament.
