 Owls Finish 2nd at Rain-Shortened Invitational
( JACKSONVILLE, Ill., Sept. 6) - The William Woods University women's golf team finished second at the Lady Blues Invitational at the Links Golf Course in Jacksonville, Ill. The tournament was scheduled for two days. Rain on Sunday forced an early end to the tournament.
William Woods finished 10 shots behind tournament champion Illinois Wesleyan College. WWU shot 319 (+31) for the opening round. The tournament field consisted of 17 teams.
Sophomore Jada Bennington and freshman Naomi Starr finished in a tie for 6th place individually. Each shot an opening round 78 (+6).
The Owls return to the links on September 14th and 15th at the Lady Panther Fall Shootout in Springfield, Mo.
