Owls Second at AMC Championships
(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Nov. 7) - The William Woods University women's cross country team finished second at the American Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon. Park University captured the championship held at Forest Park.
The Owls took three of the top six places. Junior Kristi Palmer (Ste. Genevieve, Mo.) finished third in the event. Palmer finished in a time of 19:07.49.
Sophomore Cheryl Held (Wildwood, Mo.) and freshman Amy Gangloff (Wellsville, Mo.) finished fifth, and sixth, respectively. Held finished the race in 19:48.10. Gangloff finished the 5k in 19:55.32.

Sophomore Latrice Fletcher (Independence, Mo.) - 11th in a time of 21:03.25
Sophomore Jordan Locke (Hannibal, Mo.) - 16th in a time of 22:16.79
Freshman Stephanie Candrl (High Ridge, Mo.) - 24th in a time of 23:12.49
Palmer, Held and Gangloff qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. The National Championships will take place on November 21.
"Our women ran great today, especially our top three runners," said coach Brayce Forsha. "Everyone gave an outstanding effort and that is all I can ask for. I was extremely impressed with the performance of Amy Gangloff. She has come a long way since the beginning of the season, so to see her qualify for the national meet as a freshman was really exciting."
