Dan Chapla became the William Woods University head women's basketball coach during the summer of 2008. In his first season at William Woods, Chapla directed his team to a 21-11 record. The Owls were co-champions of the American Midwest Conference regular season, champions of the AMC postseason tournament and received an automatic bid to the 2008-09 NAIA National Tournament. It was the first trip to the National Tournament for the Owls since the 1991-92 season. The Owls were ranked as high as 22nd during the 2008-09 season.
Chapla came to William Woods from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., were he spent six years as the head women’s basketball coach. During his time at C-SC, Chapla produced a 100% graduation rate, and his program produced 12 NAIA scholar athletes. Coach Chapla’s teams finished in the top three in defensive field goal percentage during five of his six years as head coach. They qualified for the Heart of American Athletic Conference post-season tournament five times.
Prior to Culver-Stockton, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan.
Before his stint at Ottawa University, Chapla spent a year at the University of Central Missouri. Chapla was an assistant men's coach for the NCAA Division II Mules.
Chapla began his coaching career at Culver-Stockton College in 1996. He spent three years as an assistant men's basketball coach and Intramural Director.
Chapla is a graduate of Ottawa University. He was a starting point guard for three years, and team captain during the 1993 season. That year he was also selected First-Team All-Conference and NAIA Honorable-Mention All-American.
Coach Chapla received his bachelor of arts degree in political science from Ottawa University in 1993. In May of 2002, Chapla received his masters of physical education/sports administration from the University of Central Missouri.
Chapla is married to his wife Gara. They reside in Fulton, Missouri, with their daughter Ivy.

Carrie Parker was hired as an assistant coach at William Woods University in the Summer of 2008.
Parker comes to William Woods from William Penn University. She is a 2008 graduate of William Penn. Parker was team captain for the basketball team from 2006-08. She was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection. Twice she was awarded with the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors in 2007. At the conclusion of the 2007-08 season, Parker was selected Honorable Mention All-Midwest Collegiate Conference.
Parker scored over 900 points during her playing career at William Penn. She finished her career second all-time in free throws made (312), third all-time in three-pointers made (105), and ninth all-time in field-goal attempts (865).
Coach Parker received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration in May of 2008. She is currently working towards her Master's in Education in Athletic Administration at William Woods University.

Emmy Rash-Langhammer begins her first season as a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at William Woods University.
Rash-Langhammer comes to William Woods from La Plata High School in La Plata, Mo. She taught science at the high school, and coach the junior high basketball team.
Coach Rash-Langhammer played women’s basketball for Culver-Stockton College from 2001-05. Three of those seasons she played for current WWU coach Dan Chapla. She led the Wildcats her freshman year in three-point shooting, and was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete at C-SC. Rash-Langhammer graduated in May of 2005 with a bachelor of arts in elementary education.
