Woods Tops Missouri University S & T

(ROLLA, Mo., Nov. 3)--The William Woods University volleyball team defeated Missouri University S & T in Rolla, Mo., on Tuesday evening. The Owls defeated the NCAA Division II school 3-1 by scores of 25-14, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-22.

This was the first meeting between the two school since 1976. The Owls now lead the all-time series 9-3-2.

Sophomore Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Tex.) recorded a team-high 10 kills in the victory. Senior Cali Simmons (Shawnee, Kan.), junior Brianna Rodriguez (Camdenton, Mo.) and senior Lacey Olin (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added nine kills each. Freshman Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) recorded a team-high 21 assists in the WWU win. Senior Sky Wade (Licking, Mo.) had 23 digs for the Owls.

Missouri University S & T falls to 10-25 on the season. The Miners defeated American Midwest Conference opponent, and nationally ranked, Columbia College 3-2 earlier this season. William Woods improves to 26-6 overall.

The Owls conclude the regular season on November 5th. William Woods will travel to Fayette, Mo., to challenge Central Methodist University at 7 pm. William Woods defeated Central Methodist 3-0 on September 2nd in Anderson Arena.
