Volleyball Upsets Lindenwood

(ST. CHARLES, Mo., Sept. 15) - The William Woods University volleyball team scored a huge upset on Tuesday night. The Owls knocked of #22 Lindenwood, on the road, to improve to 9-3 on the season.

William Woods entered the match with a record of 8-3. The Owls were coming off a four-match sweep at the University of St. Mary tournament.

#22 Lindenwood entered the match 10-3 on the year. Two of its three losses had come to American Midwest Conference member, and 4th ranked, Columbia College.

The Owls, who trail the all-time series between the two schools 12-7, defeated the Lions 3-1. WWU won 25-20, 19-25, 25-23 and 25-22.

The Owls will return to the court on Thursday, September 17th. WWU will host AMC rival Missouri Baptist University at 7 pm in Anderson Arena.
