Owls Win at Missouri Baptist

(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Oct. 5) - The William Woods University volleyball team gained an important American Midwest Conference road victory Monday night at Missouri Baptist University. The Owls defeated the Spartans 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-21. The Spartans won the previous match between the two AMC rival schools on September 17th, in Fulton, 3-0.

Sophomore Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Tex.) had a team-high 11 kills in the win for William Woods. Senior Lacey Olin (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 10 kills in the win. Senior Skye Wade added 18 digs for the Owls. Junior Molly Daugherty recorded a team-high 16 assists in the victory.

William Woods improves to 15-5 on the season, 7-2 in the AMC. The Owls have now won six consecutive matches, and 12 of their last 14. Missouri Baptist falls to 10-13 on the year, 4-3 in the AMC.

WWU will return to action on October 8th at Avila University.
