(FULTON, Mo., Oct. 10) - The William Woods University volleyball team swept American Midwest Conference foe Harris-Stowe State University on Saturday afternoon in Anderson Arena. The Owls defeated the Hornets 3-0 by scores of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-11.

 

The Owls have dominated the series against the Hornets. William Woods improves to 49-0 all-time against Harris-Stowe. The Owls and Hornets began playing each other in 1980.

 

Senior Lacey Olin (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had a team high eight kills in the WWU victory. Freshman Alicia Green (Midlothian, Tex.) added six kills and two blocks in the win. Freshman Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) recorded a team-high 17 assist in the win. Senior Skye Wade (Licking, Mo.) added nine digs for the Owls.

 

William Woods has now won eight consecutive matches. The Owls have also won 14 of its last 16 matches.

 

WWU improves to 17-5 on the season, and 8-2 in the AMC. Harris-Stowe falls to 0-21 on the year, and 0-11 in league play.

 

William Woods will return to action on October 15th. WWU will host AMC foe Stephens College at 4 pm, and Missouri Valley College at 8 pm in Anderson Arena.
