Five Set Win For Owls

(HANNIBAL, Mo., Oct. 1) - The William Woods University volleyball team won an American Midwest Conference volleyball match at Hannibal-LaGrange College on Thursday night.  The Owls won 25-19, 25-16, 16-25, 22-25 and 15-13.

The Owls concluded its five-match AMC road trip with a record of 4-1.  Its only loss was at nationally ranked Columbia College.

AMC Volleyball Player of the Week Lacey Olin (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded 15 kills in the win for WWU. Sophomore Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Tex.) added 10 kills in the win. Senior Skye Wade (Licking, Mo.) had a team-high 24 digs for the Owls. Junior Molly Dougherty (Omaha, Nebr.) added 20 assists in the victory.

William Woods improves to 13-5 on the season, 5-2 in the AMC.  Hannibal-LaGrange falls to 10-8 overall, 5-3 in the AMC.  The Owls, who received votes in this week's NAIA Top 25 poll, will return to action on October 3rd.  WWU will host AMC foe Park University at 1 pm in Anderson Arena.
