Owls Open AMC With Loss at Columbia
(Columbia, Mo., Sept. 23) - The William Woods University men’s soccer team opened its American Midwest Conference schedule on Tuesday evening at Columbia College. The Cougars defeated the Owls 4-0.
Columbia scored two goals in the first half, and two in the second half in the victory. The Cougars received goals from Milos Milosavljevic, Jimmy Herman, Jordan Cox and Parker Rawdon.
Columbia recorded 20 shots in the victory, seven on goal. William Woods tallied eight shots, three on goal. Alex Rangel had one save, and Ken Searles had two saves in the win for CC. Senior Nate Thackeray (Manchester, England) had four saves in the loss for WWU.
Columbia improves to 6-2-1 overall, and 1-0 in the AMC. William Woods falls to 4-3 on the year, and 0-1 in the AMC. The Owls will return to action on Saturday, September 26th, against AMC foe Williams Baptist College. The Owls and Eagles will kick-off at 3 pm at Firley Field.
