Owls Drop AMC Match to Hannibal-LaGrange
(COLUMBIA, Mo., Nov. 1)--The William Woods University men's soccer team dropped an American Midwest Conference match to Hannibal-LaGrange College on Sunday afternoon. The Trojans defeated the Owls 4-1. Due to wet conditions at William Woods, the match was moved to Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Mo.
Hannibal-LaGrange scored one goal in the first half, and three in the second, en route to the victory. The Trojans received goals from Agustin Sanchez (2), Dustin Freitag and Thiago Pereira.
William Woods got on the board in the second half on a goal from senior Zach Fox (Kansas City, Mo.). Fox scored on an assist from senior Steve Brocks (Portsmouth, England). It was the third goal of the season for Fox, and the fourth assist of the year for Brocks.
H-LG outshot the Owls 19-8 for the match. Freshman Robert Thibodeaux (Lafayette, La.) recorded two saves in the loss for WWU.
Hannibal-LaGrange improves to 11-4-1 on the season, and 6-1 in the AMC. William Woods falls to 9-6-1 on the year, 2-4 in league play.
The Owls will return to action on November 2nd. WWU will travel to St. Louis, Mo., to take on AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University. Kick-off is at 3 pm.
