(MOBERLY, Mo., Oct. 21)--The William Woods University men's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win at Central Christian College on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Owls improve to 7-5-1.

 

WWU put three goals in the back of the net in the first half. Nate Thackeray (Manchester, England), Matt Steiniger (O'Fallon, Mo.) and Jimmy Hice (Cincinnati, Ohio) all scored goals for the Owls in the opening half.

 

The Owls continued to pressure Central Christian in the second half of play. Dirk Bauer (Kansas City, Mo.) and Steve Brocks (Portsmouth, England) each added a goal for WWU in the final 45 minutes of play.

 

Eric Ooton (Kansas City, Mo.), Oliver Dyson (Newark, England), Ruben Ramirez (Miami, Fla.), Hice and Brocks all added assists in the win.

 

The Owls outshot Central Christian 44-4. Freshman Robert Thibodeaux (Lafayette, La.) had two saves in the win for William Woods.

 

WWU will return to action on October 22nd. The Owls will host AMC foe Williams Baptist College at 2 pm at Firley Field.
