Owls Second at AMC Championships
(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Nov. 7)--The William Woods University men's cross country team finished second at the American Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon. McKendree University captured the championship held at Forest Park.
William Woods put three runners in the top five. Junior Jason Rose (Lenexa, Kan.) finished second in the event. Rose finished with a time of 25:50.89. His time is now the 9th fastest time in the history of the program.
Senior Emmanuel Ramirez (Des Plaines, Ill.) and freshman Ryan Meyer (Bonnots Mill, Mo.) finished fourth, and fifth, respectively. Ramirez completed the race in 25:58.60. Meyer finished the 8k in 26:10.80. Carison Kemei (McKendree University) won the race with a time of 24:11.50.

Freshman Derik Simenson (Sioux City, Iowa) - 20th in a time of 28:19.99
Freshman Zach Bryant (Russellville, Mo.) - 23rd in a time of 28:35.67
Freshman Kyland Sims (Lawson, Mo.) - 29th in a time of 29:22.79
Rose, Ramirez and Meyer qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. The National Championships will take place on November 21.
"It was a good day for us," said head cross country coach Brayce Forsha. "No team title, but we gave it all we had. I could not be more proud. We showed the kind of heart every coach looks for. We have an amazing young group that is only going to get better."
