William Woods Defeats Logan College

(FULTON, Mo., Nov. 4) -The William Woods University men's basketball team defeated visiting Logan College of Chiropractic on Wednesday night in Anderson Arena. William Woods won 90-47 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

 

The Owls raced out to a 36-22 lead after 20 minutes of play. William Woods shot 40% from the field in the opening half. Freshman Logan Decker (Kansas City, Mo.) led the Owls at the break with 11 points.

 

The William Woods defense held Logan College to 24% shooting in the first half. The Owls forced eight turnovers and outrebounded Logan College 28-21.

 

Hot shooting continued for the Owls in the second half. William Woods shot 55% from the floor and outscored Logan College 54-25 en route to the victory.

 

The Owls shot 49% from the floor for the night. Decker scored a game-high 21 points in the win. He was 8-for-15 from the field, including 4-for-7 from beyond the three-point line. Junior Dan Anderson (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 17 points in the victory. Anderson was 5-for-10 from three-point range. Sophomore Adam Otto (Lake Ozark, Mo.) and junior Vern Watkins added 13, and 12, points respectively. Otto grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for William Woods. Freshman Kelsey Bardell had nine points, a game-high eight assists and seven rebounds.

 

William Woods will return to action on Nov. 7. The Owls will travel to Jackson, Tenn., and play Union University at 4 pm.
