Season Begins Tonight

(FULTON, Mo., Nov. 2) -The William Woods University men's basketball team will begin the 2009-10 season tonight at Avila University. The Owls and Eagles will tip-off at 7 pm in Kansas City, Mo.

Head coach Drew Grzella begins his third season at William Woods. He returns three starters, and seven letterwinners, from the 2008-09 squad. Last season, the Owls finished 8-21 on the season, and 4-10 in the American Midwest Conference.

Avila defeated William Woods last season. AU won 69-67 in Fulton, Mo., on November 22nd. The Eagles lead the all-time series 2-0. You can listen to tonight's game at the Avila University web page. Once you are at the site, click on the "On The Air Audio Webcasts!" icon at game time.

The first home game for William Woods will be on November 4th. The Owls will host Logan University at 7 pm in Anderson Arena.
