Darren Munns joined the athletics staff in September of 2005, becoming the third head baseball coach at William Woods University. In his first four seasons at William Woods, the Owls have finished among the top three in the American Midwest Conference standings each season.
He has captained the team from a 19-40 season prior to his arrival to a 121-86 mark in his four seasons at William Woods. The 2009 season was memorable. The Owls posted a 34-15 record which ranks as the best single-season winning percentage in school history. The Owls appeared in the AMC championship game for the second time in four years. WWU was ranked in the NAIA Top 25 poll for the first time in school history, and were among others receiving votes in the final national poll. Coach Munns produced the schools first Major League Baseball drafted player in pitcher Nick Wooley (Kansas City Royals). Pitcher Josh Gooding became the second player in school history to sign a professional contract (Baltimore Orioles). Finally, the 2009 team recorded a .323 team batting average and averaged 6.5 runs per game.
Other accomplishments during Munns' tenure include the best conference record in school history, two appearances in the AMC Tournament Championship game, qualifying for the Region V Tournament, and achieving a cumulative team GPA of over a 3.0. During his four years at WWU, the Owls offense has averaged 6.2 runs per game, and amassed a .322 batting average.
Munns joined the Owls after back-to-back record setting seasons in his two years at Harris-Stowe State University, culminating with 34 wins in 2005. Munns has coached at the collegiate level since 1991, including eight seasons at the NCAA Division I level.
Harris-Stowe made a 23-game improvement from the 2004 to 2005 under coach Munns. 2005 also marked the first time in school history that the Hornets appeared in the American Midwest Conference Tournament. Munns' first recruiting class produced four First Team AMC All-Conference players, one of whom made First Team All-American.
Before taking the helm at HSSC, Munns served as Assistant Coach at Central Methodist College (1999-2001) in The Heart of America Athletic Conference. While at Central Methodist, he served as hitting, infield, and third base coach. The 2000 team broke numerous offensive records, appeared in the conference championship game, and qualified for the NAIA Regional Tournament.
Immediately before joining Central Methodist, Munns served as associate head coach at Drexel University (1991-1998), in Philadelphia. Munns' primary duty at Drexel was serving as recruiting coordinator, and pitching coach. During his tenure, Drexel had their strongest recruiting classes in school history, including three Freshmen All-Americans.
The Drexel Baseball program also had one of the largest single season improvements in NCAA Division I history, winning 19 games in 1991 after a four win season in 1990. Drexel went on to five consecutive winning seasons and three conference championship game appearances during Munns' tenure. Drexel's graduation rate was in the 90th percentile under Munns's tutelage.
Munns is a Mexico, Mo. native and received his undergraduate degree in physical education from Missouri Western State College (1991) in St. Joseph, Mo. Munns, and his wife Sarah, reside in Columbia, Mo.

Craig McAndrews joined the Owls' athletic staff in fall of 2006, becoming an assistant under head coach Darren Munns. He works with catchers and outfielders. He also plays a large role in recruiting. McAndrews is also the Head of Outdoor Facilities at WWU. He coordinates and supervises all outdoor field maintenance at the University.
McAndrews played under Munns at Harris-Stowe State University for two years, finishing his playing career in 2006. Coach McAndrews threw over 100 innings out of the Harris-Stowe bullpen in two seasons. Over two seasons, he amassed a 8-4 record and tallied eleven saves.
Before pitching at Harris-Stowe State University, McAndrews spent two seasons at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. He caught and pitched as a freshman and served as the designated hitter when he wasn't on the hill as a sophomore.
McAndrews is a Omaha, Neb. native and Omaha South High School product. His playing career at Omaha South was highlighted by a seventeen inning performance in his senior campaign in which he hurled 178 pitches.
Craig is a 2007 graduate of William Woods University. He received his bachelor's degree in sports management. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in athletic/activities administration at William Woods.

Zac Stokes begins his second season as an assistant coach at WWU. Stokes has spent the past two years playing and coaching in his native Australia. He was the hitting coach for Sturt of the South Australian Baseball League.
Stokes is a 2006 graduate of William Woods. He was a two-time All-AMC outfielder for the Owls. Stokes is among the Owls career leaders with a .379 batting average, 31 doubles, and 75 RBI. He was a captain for coach Munns’ first team at William Woods (2006), which finished with the highest winning percentage in school history. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in athletic/activities administration at William Woods.
