Freshman Applicants:
You are encouraged to apply as early as possible after you have completed your junior
year. You will be notified of an admissions decision shortly after all application
materials are received, in keeping with our rolling admissions policy. Additional
information may be requested on an individual basis.

Transfer Applicants:
Students requesting to transfer to William Woods University may do so if you are in good academic standing at another accredited college or university. An official transcript from every institution attended is required. Applicants are asked to submit official high school transcripts with ACT or SAT results for class placement only. Returning Applicants:
Students wanting to return to William Woods University after leaving for at least a semester (and attending another college or university) must apply and be accepted for readmission. If you left William Woods University in good academic standing and have not attended another college or university, you may be readmitted without completing another application by calling the Registrar's Office at 573.592.4249. Part-Time Applicants:
Students wanting to attend William Woods University, but be enrolled in less than
12 credit hours.

Evening Programs
Students seeking the A.A., B.S. degrees follow instructional programs and schedules organized in the cohort format. Within the cohort format, you take courses consecutively, one course at a time, rather than several courses simultaneously. This allows the working adult a fully-concentrated focus upon the content of each course.
Undergraduate Programs:
The associate of arts (AA) program and ACCESS courses are designed to assist working adults in the completion of general education and elective courses.
Bachelors of Science Degree-Completion Program:
The bachelors of science (BS) program is designed to assist working adults in the completion of their bachelors of science degree.
Requirements
- A completed application form, or apply online
- Official transcripts from every high school or college attended (or GED)
- Copy of current resume or summary of work experience
- For international students: minimum acceptable score on a recognized English language test
- (BS Only) 50-60 hours of transferable credits required
Graduate College
MBA, M.Ed. and Ed.S
The master of business administration (MBA), master of education (M.Ed.) and the educational specialist (Ed.S.) degree programs are designed to assist working adults. These are 36-credit-hour programs.
Requirements
To be considered for admission you must submit a completed application and the following requirements:
- A completed application form, or apply online
- An official transcript showing degree conferred from the institution awarding the baccalaureate or graduate degree
- Current resume or summary of work experience
- Two completed recommendation forms
- For international students: minimum acceptable score on a recognized English language test
- A copy of teaching certificate (M.Ed. and Ed.S. Administration only)
- Admissions Essay
DOCTORATE OF EDUCATION (Ed.D) Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education Specialist degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Graduate grade point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale;
- Two years experience working as an educator;
- Prerequisite coursework: Research Methods/Design and Research Statistics.
Admissions Procedures
NO CANDIDATE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION until the following are submitted and assessment is completed.
The following must be submitted before consideration for admission:
- Graduate Application
- Official transcripts showing masters and specialist degrees. Only transcripts received in a sealed envelope directly from the sending school will be considered official. Students graduating from William Woods University?s masters and/or specialist programs do not need to submit new copies of transcripts already on file.
- Two academic letters of reference from professionals who can address the candidate?s academic ability, potential for success in strenuous scholarly work, and past performance as an educator in the field. One letter must be from a supervisor. Applicants waive the right to disclosure of letters;
- Professional vita.
- Philosophy of Leadership statement highlighting the applicant?s personal leadership characteristics and past professional leadership experiences, as well as the applicant?s purpose in pursuing the doctoral degree and expectation of the benefit of obtaining the doctorate. This statement must be at least 750 words.
- Qualifying Assessment to be administered on the Fulton campus. Applicants will be notified of the assessment date after all other required materials are received.
