Admissions
Transfer Students

William Woods University accepts a number of students each year who transfer from other institutions. Acceptance is reserved for students who are eligible to return to their last institutions of study and meet all other admission requirements. Transfer students who have earned an associate ITP studentdegree will receive credit for up to 62 credit hours, including courses with a "D" grade. However, if a "D" grade is a prerequisite to another course in a student's program, it must be repeated. Transfer credits are generally accepted at full value, provided the transferring institution is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools or an equivalent accrediting agency, and the course content is equivalent to that of a comparable offering at William Woods University.

Accepted transfer hours are figured into the total 122 credit hours required for completion of the baccalaureate degree; however, transfer grades are not calculated into the student's grade point average.

Transfer students must have at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA be considered for acceptance to the university.  If the student does not meet the criteria, they may be considered for Provisional Acceptance.  The application procedure will be considered complete when the following three items have been received:

  1. Application for Admission. The completed form must be accompanied by an application fee of $25.00. Fee waived if you apply online.
  2. College Transcripts. A student must submit official transcripts from all colleges attended to William Woods University, Office of Admissions.
  3. References. A student should list two non-family members who are familiar with the student's academic work. (Teachers or professors are recommended)

William Woods University has a reciprocal agreement with Kirkwood Community College in Iowa.  Check the website below for transfer credit availability. http://www.kirkwood.cc.ia.us
