In addition to meeting regular admissions requirements, an international student must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to successfully complete coursework. The student must present evidence of proficiencies in oral and written English by earning satisfactory scores on the TOEFL (550 or above) administered through the Educational Testing Service or other examination recognized as equivalent to the TOEFL.
All international applicants to William Woods must submit official transcripts of any post-secondary institutions. (If the original transcripts are not in English, certified or notarized English translations must accompanied the originals). International students must also present an official statement of financial support demonstrating sufficient funds to cover tuition, room, and board. The University can not issue an I-20 form (certificate of eligibility for a student visa) for an international student until the TOEFL scores and the statement of financial support are on file in the Office of Admissions. F-1 students must maintain a full-time course load.
All international students must possess health insurance; they may seek assistance from the University in purchasing this insurance upon arrival.
