William Woods University is no longer accepting applications to the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program as we transition to our new Master of Science in Athletic Training program, which can be completed in 5 years.

For undergraduate students interested in pursuing an education in athletic training, William Woods offers a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a sports medicine/pre-athletic training concentration.

Dr. Thornburg is a member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American Medical Association. Working directly with Dr. Thornburg on his team are his nurse, Katie Powderly and his administrative assistant, Julee West.

Dr. Thornburg and his wife have three children. In his free time he enjoys golf, running and spending time with his family.

Jill received her degree in athletic training in 1991 from Truman State University and her degree in physical therapy from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1993. She has worked in Fulton since 1993 as a physical therapist and as the Athletic Trainer for Fulton Public Schools. In addition, Jill has enhanced her credentials by earning her certification as an ergonomic assessment specialist from the Back School of Atlanta in 2003.
