You don’t have to choose between pursuing an equestrian degree and pursuing art when there are so many great career opportunities that involve both. The art concentration within the equine general studies degree at William Woods University will prepare you to combine your creativity with your love of horses.

Get involved right on campus with our various publications, help out in an artistic way with our five equestrian teams. Join artists and equestrians in various shows throughout the year.

Combine coursework that grows your understanding of the equestrian industry and your favorite riding discipline with a foundation in aesthetics and design, plus various upper level art courses in your favorite artistic discipline.

Career opportunities

Art-minded individuals are needed throughout the equestrian industry to aid in promotion of events and programs, styling of riders and shows, even the layout and organization of equestrian facilities. Pursue an exciting career as an equine artist, illustrator, graphic designer for an equine publication, social media manager and more.

Requirements/Curriculum

The equine general studies concentration in art includes coursework in riding and an understanding of the equine industry, plus basic design, fundamentals of graphic design, and various upper level drawing, sculpture or photography courses.
