Theatre Concentration in Technical

Cast a light on your dreams.

Theatre goes far beyond those acting on stage. There is a tone that must be set. An atmosphere of possibility that must be created, that brings the characters, the music and the story to life. It’s an experience. And on the technical side of theatre, you will be in the business of creating, building, setting and designing those treasured experiences.

The technical concentration within the theatre degree at William Woods University allows you to focus on the preparation and production aspects of theatre. You will learn the ins and outs of stage management, lighting techniques, basics in acting and directing, as well as the art of stage makeup and costume design.

Career opportunities

With a technical concentration in theatre, you will be prepared for a career as a stage manager, lighting designer, special effects artist, audio engineer, costume designer, makeup artist and more. Our graduates can be found designing and preparing the stages, and those on the stage, across the state of Missouri and around the country.
